Skin Care Routine

The daily beauty care routine is the total skin care package that provides the skin the optimal nourishment and protection that it needs. Many skin care products are specifically design to be applied in the daily skin care routine. These include moisturizers, cleansers, facial creams, and serums among other products. We list down below the order on which the skin care products should be applied for their maximum effect to take place.

Step 1: Cleansers

Cleansers are designed to remove dirt, oil, and make-up on the surface of the skin. It is essential for these to be removed to allow the skin to breathe and prepare it to absorb the skin nourishing properties of the other products. Cleansers can lightly soften the skin with its foamy composition as it carries away dirt, oil, and make-up upon a rinse of water.

Step 2: Toners

Toners make a more thorough cleansing that also smoothens and softens the skin. Application of toners with a cotton pad is one of the most effective ways to remove any excess oils and make-up that are not washed away by the cleansers.

Step 3: Exfoliators

Exfoliators are used for a more aggressive facial cleansing that focuses more on the dead skin cells and clogged pores. Exfoliators gently rub away the excess buildup of dead skin cells to reveal a younger and healthier skin, and also unclog the pores for a more thorough cleansing.

Step 4: Serums

These are specially formulated products for different skin care needs. With the skin thoroughly cleansed, this is the best time for the skin to absorb the skin nourishment and protection that the serums can offer, so anti-aging, acne-treatment, vitamin c, and other serums are best applied after exfoliating.

Step 5: Moisturizers and Creams

The cream based moisturizers and facial creams are in the perfect consistency to provide additional nourishment while keeping the serum’s effects locked into the skin. The creams can also provide an extra layer of hydrating nourishment and skin protection from both the environment and the sun.
